IV Drips & Hydration

Intravenous fluids for severe dehydration, hangovers, food poisoning, and heat exhaustion.

In Arugam Bay’s heat, dehydration is the most underestimated health issue we see. Long surf sessions, late nights, food poisoning, and tropical fevers can all leave you dangerously dry. When oral rehydration isn’t enough, an IV drip restores fluids and electrolytes in under an hour.

When an IV is the right choice

  • Severe food poisoning or traveler’s diarrhea with vomiting
  • Heat exhaustion or heat stroke
  • Severe hangover with persistent vomiting
  • Dengue fever recovery (close monitoring required)
  • Post-surgery or post-illness recovery
  • Migraine with vomiting

What’s involved

A consultation first, so we can check your blood pressure, pulse, and hydration status. Then a sterile drip — usually 500ml to 1 litre of saline, sometimes with added electrolytes, anti-nausea medication, or vitamins. The whole visit usually takes 45–90 minutes. You leave feeling significantly better.
